Bangladesh have won the ACC U-19 Asia Cup 2023 title with a comprehensive 195-run victory over United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the final on Sunday, December 17. Opting to bat after winning the toss, Bangladesh posted a solid 282/6 on the board with Ashiqur Rahman Shibli scoring a magnificent 129 off 149 balls with 12 fours and one six. Chowdhur Mohammad Rizwan and Ariful Islam also scored 60 and 50 runs respectively at the Dubai International Stadium. In response, UAE were bowled out for just 87 runs with Rohanat Doullah Borson and Maruf Mridha taking three wickets apiece. Iqbal Hossain Emon and Sheikh Jibon took two wickets each and Bangladesh emerged victorious in the eight-nation tournament with a perfect record of five wins from five games.

For UAE, Dhruv Parashar waged a lone battle at No. 4 to be 25 not out. Opener Akshat Rai (11) was the next-best scorer, while the others failed to reach double digits.

With two centuries in five matches, Bangladeshi wicketkeeper-batsman Ashiqur Rahman Shibli finished with 378 runs from five innings at 126.00 to be adjudged both player of the match and series.

Earlier, Bangladesh beat india to make the Under-19 Asia Cup final. Besides Bangladesh won U-19 World Cup four years ago.
